Beautiful Day
They’ve taken to the streets in Koreatown Los Angeles, after S. Korea upset Italy, 2-1.
I stopped watching after Italy scored their first goal, because when it comes to sports, I’m very superstitious when it comes to sports, and because I hadn’t seen S. Korea play yet, and because they’d been successful until now, I didn’t want to mess with their groove (no one ever said sports was rational).
The Italian players looked very good, strong and physical. They played a near-perfect half, I thought. So I stopped watching, with Italy up, 1-0. I’d let the crowds of Koreans outside tell me how they were doing.
I fell asleep for about ten minutes and then turned the television back on to see the score tied! I watched for about a minute and then turned the thing back off and just listened. A few moments later, I heard people outside go berserk.
